About our Network

PINF plays host to a vibrant community of over 100 independent and local news providers across the UK. 

We established the group because many local and hyper-local news providers work alone, either as sole traders or in small voluntary groups, sometimes lacking connection and support from other journalists. 

We brought together this burgeoning network - first through our annual Local News Forums and then virtually - to make connections, facilitate peer learning and surface best practices. 

If you’re a public interest news provider in the UK, you can apply to join the network. It’s totally free - no contract or membership required.

As part of our community, you’ll get excellent peer-to-peer support from the other 100+ members, you’ll be eligible to apply for tickets for the annual Local News Forum (previous years held in Bristol, Glasgow and Leicester) and you’ll get access to heaps of resources on our Sharepoint Toolkit.
